COVID Update

In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Hadleigh Youth FC would like to advise of the following measures we are undertaking to keep our members safe in line with HMG and the FA guidance.

Written Consent to participate in activities - We will be issuing a Spond invite asking for parents/carers to consent to their child participating in activities at the club. Please look out for this and respond before your child participates in any future activities.

Health Checks / Self Screen Checks - We would ask that parents/carers agree to carry out selfscreening checks before attending any events (e.g. training/matches). We request that you do not attend any events if:-
1) Shown existence of any COVID-19 symptoms in the last 10 days, for example:

  • New continuous cough.
  • Fever/temperature.
  • Unusually short of breath during exercise or at rest.
  • Loss of or change in normal sense of taste or smell.
  • A sore throat
  • Feeling generally unwell in any other way.

2) You have been in contact with a COVID-19 confirmed or suspected case in the last 14 days, or someone in the same household is unwell.

Acceptance of each event on Spond will be taken as these checks have been carried out.

Please also let the Club know if any player or member of their household is considered high-risk with underlying health issues.

Contact Details - In order to support the NHS Test and Trace program, we request that everyone ensures that their contact details are up to date on Spond and that they respond to any events so that we can record attendees.

Arrival / Leaving Events - When travelling to events, please use private transport and avoid sharing cars with members from another household where possible. If public transport is used, then please wear face coverings as required by present legislation. Please time your arrival at events so we do not have large numbers congregating before the start of a session. Spectators are allowed at events but should continue social distancing in line with HMG advice and limit groups to a maximum of 6 from separate households. At the end of the session, please leave as quickly as possible and avoid congregating with other players & parents.

First Aid - If an injury occurs to a player, we request that a member of the same household administers any treatment unless it is life threatening, or a serious injury that necessitates compromising guidelines to provide emergency care. In which case, PPE equipment such as face masks and/or gloves will be worn.

Player Contact & Conduct - Players and officials should refrain from unnecessary physical contact, including handshakes, high fives, chest bumps, group celebrations etc. They should also refrain from spitting and the use of chewing gum, both of which can increase the risk of transmission.

Food and Drink - Please make sure your child's water bottle is clearly marked so we can reduce the risk of transmission. Ideally, no food should be consumed at the sessions.

Cleaning Routines - Where possible we will limit the sharing of equipment and sanitise between sessions. We would encourage all players to use hand sanitizers before and after sessions and thoroughly wash their hands at the earliest opportunity.

Please remember to follow the Government's guidance, be sensible, use your common sense and respect the measures above and we hope to continue partaking in football activities in a safe manner. The Club can accept no responsibility for consequences as result of activities with the Club during this period.
